Today Chef James has visited us in class. We have been tasting foods from different food groups – carbohydrate, fruit and vegetables, fish and fats. We have had fun tasting food from different countries grapes, sweet potato, celery, tuna, quark, cheese, pomegranate, plum tomato. peppers and kiwi fruit. We had to say if we thought the food was sweet, sour, bitter or salty.
Afterwards we looked at some herb – rosemary, basil, mint and coriander plants. Our class are growing planted chives and cress and we will water them in school and use them in our bread cooking next time that Chef visits us in the summer term. 🙂
