Today we had lots of fun taking part in various Royal Wedding themed activities! We decorated cakes with red, blue and white icing ready to eat at our afternoon picnic! We wrote letters to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, congratulating them on their wedding. We are going to post these off to the Palace and see if we get a reply! We also made hats and bowties and decorated them with the Union Jack. We wore these for our picnic!

Today we had lots of fun experiencing different ways to pray and make time for God.
We took part in several different activities, moving around the school to complete them.
With Mrs. Holding we made ‘tasty prayers’. We talked about how each piece of fruit represented a way in which we can live how God would wish us to e.g. being kind, being happy, loving.
In Miss Boughey’s class we made friendship bracelets to represent our friendship with God. We talked about how God loves us and how he will always be our friend.
In Miss Brennan’s class we decorated a stone to add to our school’s prayer cairn. We wrote special words such as ‘joy’ ‘love’ and ‘friendship’ and decorated them with images.
In our own class we decorated prayer posters. We did this in silence and thought about how calming God’s presence is and how it is important to sometimes be silent and still when talking to God.
In Miss Dooner’s class we made prayer flags. On each flag we wrote a prayer for children who are in need. One of our prayers was ‘Dear God, look after children who are hungry. Amen’
Finally, in Mrs Sherry’s class we made a Lego tower full of prayers. We each had a piece of Lego and as we placed it on our tower, we said a prayer that was special to us.

This week we had a very exciting visit from Ms. Veronika!
Ms. Veronika was visiting her family in England and asked could she come and teach the children a music lesson focusing on Slovakian and Maltese music!
The children listened to a variety of Slovakian and Maltese music and learnt how to play the tambourine in the traditional styles (you use your elbows and chin to play!) and also learnt some Slovakian dance moves.
Class 1KT would like to say a huge thank you to Ms. Veronika – we had a fabulous time!
