Last week we were lucky enough to be given an award winning pumpkin by Jack in our class!

Jack won a competition for growing one of the largest pumpkins on his grandparentโ€™s allotment ๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŒพ

As a class we discussed what we would like to do with the pumpkin and decided on making pumpkin soup and pumpkin cupcakes!

Have a look at our pictures to see how we got on ๐Ÿ™‚

๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿฆ– Today, we made dinosaur bones out of salt dough.

We had to decide what type of bone we wanted to make; leg bones, teeth, back bones etc.

The bones will be added to our role play area where we will be able to become archaeologists and dig for them! ๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿฆ–

The children had a wonderful day at Martin Mere on Tuesday!

Myself, Mrs. Smith and Miss Brethertonย would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their impeccable behaviour, flawless manners and positive attitudes despite the heat. It was a pleasure to take them out and a joy to see them enjoy themselves.

Today we had lots of fun taking part in various Royal Wedding themed activities!

We decorated cakes with red, blue and white icing ready to eat at our afternoon picnic!

We wrote letters to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, congratulating them on their wedding. We are going to post these off to the Palace and see if we get a reply!

We also made hats and bowties and decorated them with the Union Jack. We wore these for our picnic!

Today we had lots of fun experiencing different ways to pray and make time for God.

We took part in several different activities, moving around the school to complete them.

With Mrs. Holding we made ‘tasty prayers’. We talked about how each piece of fruit represented a way in which we can live how God would wish us to e.g. being kind, being happy, loving.

In Miss Boughey’s class we made friendship bracelets to represent our friendship with God. We talked about how God loves us and how he will always be our friend.

In Miss Brennan’s class we decorated a stone to add to our school’s prayer cairn. We wrote special words such as ‘joy’ ‘love’ and ‘friendship’ and decorated them with images.

In our own class we decorated prayer posters. We did this in silence and thought about how calming God’s presence is and how it is important to sometimes be silent and still when talking to God.

In Miss Dooner’s class we made prayer flags. On each flag we wrote a prayer for children who are in need. One of our prayers was ‘Dear God, look after children who are hungry. Amen’

Finally, in Mrs Sherry’s class we made a Lego tower full of prayers. We each had a piece of Lego and as we placed it on our tower, we said a prayer that was special to us.

We really enjoyed celebrating World Book Day in class 1KT!

Our school’s theme was ‘snuggle up with a book’ – we loved getting all cosy in our pyjamas, dressing gowns, slippers and onesies and sharing our favourite books!
