This week we explored who Sir Isaac Newton was and also watched the special videos created on Newsround in memory of Stephen Hawking.
The children made slime to learn all about non-Newtonian liquids as part of their work on states of matter. The children explored how typically, liquids take on the shape of the container they are poured into. We call these ‘normal liquids’ Newtonian fluids. The slime the children created with cornflour didn’t follow this rule as it is a non-Newtonian liquid.
The children seemed to greatly enjoy learning about these famous British scientists who can inspire them to be scientists of the future!
