What a great first week we have had back in school!
The children have all come back to school refreshed and eager to learn and this has transpired in their work.
We have been busy working hard on different multiplication strategies including; the grid method and the expanded multiplication method. We have used lots of different equipment and resources to help us learn.
Literacy and Language:
We are building on from what we learned last term, and basing our learning on the poem ‘At the End of the School Day.’ We have created a newspaper recount to recall the terrifying incident of a lion escaping from Knowsley Safari Park and slipping onto the school grounds. The children will become news reporters next week and interview witnesses of the event.
We waved a grand goodbye to our WWII topic from last term by completing paper mache aeroplanes with old water bottles. The children loved creating the paper mache with newspaper and PVA glue and then painting them in camouflage.
Collective Worship/ Come and See:
We came together as a whole school community to worship and think about ‘doing all things good.’ We listened to a lovely message and song about this. This was very apt, as the children have conducted themselves and their work excellently this week.
In addition to their weekly homework, the children have received their ‘weekly topic homework grid.’ Please complete one activity from the options each week.
See you next week,
Mr McGowan 🙂
