In 4JM, we absolutely love science and look forward to our science lessons each week.
This week, as part of British Science Week, we have investigated and explored different scientific elements of the curriculum. This afternoon, we carried out three separate investigations including, making slime because of its Non-Newtonian elements. We also made balloon rockets to better our understanding of propulsion and friction. Finally, we investigated how absorbent materials are, we observed this by watching food colouring mixed with water travel up kitchen roll and mix together to make new colours.
We had a lovely day on World Book Day (WBD) – we ‘snuggled up with a good book’ and learned all about what WBD is and then we played 2 different quiz’s to test our knowledge on our favourite books.
This is an example of the quiz that we took part in.
We loved every second of our Mad Science day today! We enjoyed a whole year group master class about states of matter and air compression. Our mad scientist launched a air rocket across the room. We then investigated a crime scene and had to work out who had committed the scientific crime through the analysis of different finger prints.
It was a great day all around.
