Today we had some very special visitors in our nursery. We invited our Mum/Nan/Auntie to come and join us for a stay and play session.
First of all we sang ‘ Gods Love Is’ and I’m so special’.
Then we had the opportunity to:
1) Make a bracelet.
2) Plant a seed.
3) Create some beautiful flowers.
4) Count special hearts and match to the correct numeral.
5) A special picture in our Mothers day Photo booth.
As it was a special day for our Mum’s we treated them to a mini afternoon tea with delicious scones and cakes.
Finally we gathered back together and sand some nursery rhymes and listened to the story ‘ Guess How Much I Love You’.
We talked about Ash Wednesday being the start of Lent.
Mrs Ashton gave us our ashes, we thought about Jesus and then said a special prayer.
If we didn’t want to have ashes on our head Mrs Ashton said a special blessing.
On World Book Day as a school our focus was mathematics.
We listened to the stories ‘ Ten In The Bed and Five Little Monkeys Jumping on The Bed’.
The children counted the bears sleeping in the bed.
The children came to Nursery dressed in their pyjamas. The children were given the opportunity to bring in their favourite book from home. They talked about why it was their favourite book.
Today we made and ate some tasty pancakes. Look at us flipping them in the pan, it was lots of fun and made us laugh.
Miss Simpson asked us what our favourite pancake toppings are.
